The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be holding its 171st Annual General Conference on Saturday and Sunday, 31 March and 1 April 2001. The conference will originate from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Messages of inspiration and guidance will be delivered by the First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other General Authorities and general officers of the Church.
All sessions of general conference will be broadcast over the Church satellite system to meetinghouses throughout North America, Central America, and South America. In addition, the general sessions (not the priesthood session) will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.lds.org in 34 languages.
Broadcast times are as follows: Saturday morning session: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (MST); Saturday afternoon session: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (MST); Saturday priesthood session: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (MST); Sunday morning session: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (MDT); Sunday afternoon session: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (MDT).
In addition, Music and the Spoken Word, featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, will be broadcast on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. (MDT). Short, Church-related programs are planned to be broadcast during the two-hour break between the morning and afternoon general sessions..
