Elder Christoffel Golden Jr. 

First Quorum of the Seventy

Elder Christoffel Golden, Jr. was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 31, 2001. Previously, he served in the Third Quorum of the Seventy as an Area Authority Seventy for the Africa Southeast Area, and also as an Area Authority, Area Authority Seventy, and counselor in the Africa Area. He has served as president of the Africa Southeast Area, counselor in the Africa West Area, and is currently assigned to Church headquarters in Salt Lake City.

He is an experienced businessman, with background in banking, pharmaceuticals, and optical marketing. He graduated from the University of South Africa in Pretoria, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a post-graduate honors degree in international politics.

He has served the Church as a full-time missionary in South Africa, ward and stake Young Men president, institute teacher, bishop, stake president, and area director for the Church Educational System.

Christoffel Golden Jr. was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on June 1, 1952. He married Diane Norma Hulbert in 1981. They are parents of four children and have two grandchildren.
