Elder Eduardo Gavarret
Elder Eduardo Gavarret was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 5, 2008, at age 51. At the time of his call, he had been serving in the bishopric of the Santa Cruz Ward in Lima, Peru. He has served as a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy, Brazil Area, from 1997 to 2000. From 2000 to 2010 he was a counselor in the South America Northwest Area Presidency. He currently serves as assistant Executive Director in the Missionary Department and he was a member of the Media, Information, and Communications Committee at Church headquarters.
Elder Gavarret received a license in administration and management from the Escuela Superior de Administracion Empresas, Universidad Autonoma-UAA, in 1986. In 2000, he received an MBA in marketing from INPG-MBA in Brazil. Tecnofarma, located in Brazil, Bolivia, Peru and Paraguay, employed him for 18 years. Then IVAX Corporation (U.S. company) employed him as general manager for Peru and later as business director for Brazil. GP Pharm S.A. (headquartered in Spain) employed him in Peru as general manager and also as regional manager for Central America and Uruguay.
Elder Gavarret has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Uruguay Paraguay Mission, branch president, stake executive secretary, bishop, stake mission president, stake president, regional representative, Area Authority, Area Seventy, high councilor, temple worker, and Brazil MTC branch counselor, president of the Paraguay Asuncion Mission, and a bishop’s counselor.
Eduardo Gavarret Inzaurrale was born in Minas, Lavalleja, Uruguay, on May 11, 1956. He married Norma Beatriz Gorgoroso in October 1978. They are the parents of three children and enjoy five grandchildren.
