Elder Kazuhiko Yamashita
Elder Kazuhiko Yamashita was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 2011, at age 57. He is now serving in the Asia North Area Presidency in Tokyo, Japan.
Elder Yamashita received a bachelor of arts degree in physical education at Saitama University, a master’s degree in sport science from Tsukuba University, and has studied philosophy of physical education at BYU. His career includes that of instructor and professor at various universities and more recently as professor of health and sport sciences at Fukuoka University. He has served in many positions, including university, scientific society, community, and sports organization.
Since joining the Church in 1971, Elder Yamashita has served in numerous Church callings, including bishop, high councilor, stake mission president, stake president, and Area Seventy.
Kazuhiko Yamashita was born in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan in September 1953. He married Tazuko Yamashita in March 1980. They have six children and five grandchildren. Elder and Sister Yamashita currently reside in Tokyo, Japan.
