Church Announces 2014 Curriculum
- The 2014 curriculum is available online at lds.org/manual/2014.
- Members are encouraged to use digital versions of these materials whenever possible.
- Order print materials from store.lds.org between September 2 and September 30, 2013.
Beginning on January 1, Church members worldwide will begin studying new curriculum for 2014. A link to the Instructions for Curriculum 2014 and the list of manuals for Melchizedek Priesthood, Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, Young Men, and Young Women can be found online at lds.org/manual/2014.
Wards and branches should already have printed copies of most of these materials. To order additional print materials, visit store.lds.org and click on Unit Materials between September 2 and September 30, 2013.
Before ordering, consider the following questions to help you avoid ordering more printed copies than needed:
· How many printed copies of each item does your unit already have available?
· How many teachers and members use digital versions of materials rather than printed copies?
Primary teachers and leaders will use the following manuals in 2014:
Nursery Class (ages 18 months–2 years): Behold Your Little Ones: Nursery Manual
Sharing time (ages 3–11 years): 2014 Outline for Sharing Time: Families Are Forever (Copies of this outline will be mailed to each unit.)
Sunbeam Class (age 3 years): Primary 1: I Am a Child of God
CTR 4, 5, 6, and 7 (ages 4–7 years): Primary 2: Choose the Right A
Valiant 8, 9, 10, and 11 (ages 8–11 years): Primary 6: Old Testament
In 2014, priesthood quorum advisers and Young Women instructors will continue to teach from Come, Follow Me: Learning Resources for Youth.
The Mutual theme for 2014 is “Come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny
yourselves of all ungodliness” (Moroni 10:32).
The theme may be used to enrich Mutual opening exercises, as a topic for sacrament
meeting talks by youth, or to provide focus for youth activities such as camp, youth
conference, and devotionals. It may also be used to guide youth in strengthening their
testimonies of the Savior’s Atonement and remaining worthy to attend the temple.
Resources for introducing the theme, including videos and music, will be available to
leaders online by the end of 2013. Additional materials supporting both the theme and
youth curriculum will be made available in Church magazines and on LDS.org
The Melchizedek Priesthood and Relief Society will be studying the new Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Fielding Smith manual during second and third Sundays.
New members, investigators, and members returning to activity will study from Gospel Principles.
