Mabel "Belle" Lara Oil on panel, 2002
This is the artist's interpretation of Lehi's dream of the Tree of Life, taken in a literal, yet romantic expression. As she pondered about this dream, she came to the idea of this tree also representing her family. The number of fruit on the tree is the number of members of her family. Our roots are in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and our lives grow together in it as branches on a tree. We are also seen by the world as peculiar people. |
