Carmelo Juan Cuyutupa Canares Oil on canvas, 2002
We know that when Joseph arrived in Egypt as a slave he went through difficult trials until he became the trusted interpreter of Pharaoh's dreams. In this painting the artist depicts Joseph in all his magnitude, character, and power, as part of the hierarchy of the empire, so much so that he was considered an advisor, guided by the Spirit, with power to persuade Pharaoh in his wise decisions. |
