Rising Generation Julie Lochridge Pastel on paper, 2002 Alma tells us he was "called . . . to preach unto all, both old and young, both bond and free, . . . and the rising generation" (Alma 5:49). Historically, this generation did rise above the wicked world. Their prophet, Nephi, exclaimed: "And how blessed were they! For the Lord did bless them in all their doings; yea, even they . . . prospered" (4 Nephi 1:18). One experience can touch the heart of a young person and change the course of a generation. Actually seeing Jesus Christ was unrivaled by anything that could be done for our youth. Yet, by introducing their hearts to Him, by giving them a glimpse of how their Savior might look at them, they will rise above their fallen world and behold His presence. |
