Janis Mars Wunderlich Fired ceramic, glazed, 2002
This artwork depicts a mother dreaming of her current and future family. It symbolizes the mystery of motherhood, expressing those questions a mother or mothertobe constantly thinks and dreams of: "How many children will I have? What will they be like? What does the Lord have in store for me?" The work is meant to be whimsical and reflects the artist's experience of being from a family of ten children and now, as the mother of four, contemplating the impact of having more children herself. |
