This rounded mountain near the Jezreel Valley is the Mount of Transfiguration, a very important place recorded in the New Testament. According to tradition, the transfiguration took place on Mount Tabor. Here, the Savior, Moses, and Elias gave the promised keys of the priesthood to Peter, James, and John, which enabled these brethren to carry forth the work of the kingdom on earth after the departure of Jesus Christ. |
