A. D. Shaw Oil on panel, 2002
An elderly couple prays at the dinner table. Too often we are quick to go to Heavenly Father in times of need but are forgetful in good times. The bowed heads and clasped hands of this couple speak of many years of dedication to the Lord and devotion to each other through joys and in trials. Their lives are expressed in this scripture: "Being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive" (Alma 7:23). |
