Lee Udall Bennion Oil on linen, 2002
The artist has always loved the scripture found in Matthew 6:2834, where the Lord advises His disciples to consider the lilies, how they grow and neither toil nor spin, and yet in all the world there is none that is arrayed as they. If God will so clothe the grass of the field that will be cast into the oven on the morrow, shall he not clothe us? He tells us, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). If we walk forward with faith and have an eye single to His glory in all that we do, He will provide. |
