Bradley E. Aldridge Oil on panel, 2002
In this work the artist captures the spiritual resonance he senses in naturethat all things denote there is a God. He tried not to dwell too literally on decoding the iconography and symbolism to the neglect of the whispering that cuts to the very center. This image is also intriguing on another level. The Oxbow River formation is shaped like the Greek letter omega, which connotes the end, or death. And, like death, the river travels around a blind corner, only to continue on toward a hopeful horizon. |
