A History and Record on Plates of Glass: Photographs of Latter–day Saint Historic Sites
The Village of KirtlandNo photographs of Church historic sites during Joseph Smith’s lifetime are known. However, early in the 20th century, Utah photographer George Edward Anderson (1860–1928), driven by a need to record Latter-day Saint history, created a careful visual record of these places. While traveling to and from England between 1906 and 1913, where he served as a missionary, Anderson visited and photographed the location of key events in early Church history. He often enlivened the photographs by including people posed on site, near buildings or working, suggesting the activities of earlier times.

The exhibit will be on display in the Church History Museum through January 3, 2010.

The Salt Lake Tabernacle: Gathering the Saints under One Roof
Salt Lake TabernacleThe history of one of the world's most unique buildings, the Tabernacle on Temple Square, is told in this new exhibition. The exhibit opened simultaneously with the rededication of the Tabernacle after renovation. It examines the architectural influences on the Tabernacle's design and construction, displays historical photographs that document the construction progress, pays tribute to the sacrifice and dedication of the pioneer workers, and honors the Church Presidents who have spoken from its pulpits.

I Am A Child of God
"I Am a Child of God", is an interactive exhibit for families. This exhibit is based on the words of the first verse of the song "I Am a Child of God", and is designed to help visitors learn about the Plan of Salvation at a very basic level. Visitors will understand that each earth life has a purpose and that they should strive to learn about and fulfill that purpose. The exhibit is full of interactive elements illuminating these ideas.
