Kuo lau ʻe he tangatá ko e maʻu fakahaá ko ha meʻa ʻo e kuohilí, pea kuo ʻosi ʻa e maʻu fakahaá, ʻo hangē kuo pekia ʻa e ʻOtuá . . . Ko e fatongia ia ʻo e faiako moʻoní ke fakahā mai kiate kitautolu ʻoku moʻui ʻa e ʻOtuá, ka ʻoku ʻikai mate; pea ʻokú ne folofola mai he ʻahó ni, kae ʻikai ʻi he kuohilí pē.”10 Pea ko e moʻoni ʻo e meʻa naʻe lea ki ai Misa ʻEmasoní, ʻoku peheni ia: “Kapau te tau kei ʻoange ai pē ʻa e maka ʻi he taimi ʻoku kole ai ʻe he kakaí ha maá, ʻe faifai pē pea ʻe ʻikai te nau toe haʻu ki he fale taʻo maá.”11

Ko e kau palōfita? Ko e kau tangata kikite? Ko e kau tangata maʻu fakahā? ʻOku fakahā mai ʻe he ngaahi meʻa naʻe hoko ʻi he 1820 mo e 1830, mo e ngaahi meʻa ne hoko ʻi he meimei senituli ʻe ua ki mui maí, ʻoku ʻikai ko ha “ngaahi meʻa naʻe fakahā mai ʻi he kuo hilí pea kuo ʻosi” ʻa e ngaahi fakahaá mo kinautolu ʻoku nau maʻu iá.

Naʻe ui ʻa ʻEletā Sione Teila, ko ha kiʻi talavou ne hiki mai mei ʻIngilani ki he fonuá ni, ke hoko ko e ʻAposetolo ʻa e ʻEiki ko Sīsū Kalaisí, pea ko ha palōfita, tangata kikite mo e tangata maʻu fakahā ʻi he taʻu tatau pē ko ia naʻe lea ai ʻa Misa ʻEmasoni ki he Akoʻanga Fakalotú. ʻI hono ui ko iá, naʻe pehē ai ʻe ʻEletā Teila ʻi ha taimi ʻe taha, ʻi heʻene fakahā ʻa ʻene kaungā ongoʻi fakataha mo e kau fekumi fakamaatoato ki he moʻoní: “Ko hai kuo fanongo ʻi ha tui fakalotu moʻoni taʻe kau ai ha fetuʻutaki mo e ʻOtuá? ʻOku ou pehē ʻe au, ko e fakakaukau ngalivale taha ia ʻe lava ke fakakaukau ki ai ʻa e tangatá.” Naʻe toe pehē ai ʻe Palesiteni Teila, “ʻOku ʻikai haʻaku tālaʻa ʻe taha, [he ko e] taimi ko ia ʻoku ʻikai tali ai ʻe he kakaí ʻa e tefitoʻi moʻoni ʻo e maʻu fakahā ʻi he lolotonga ní, ʻoku ikuna taʻe fakangatangata leva ʻa e fakataʻetaʻetuí mo e taʻe tui ʻOtuá. ʻOku ʻikai ke u ofo ai ʻi he tokolahi pehē fau ʻo e kakai ʻoku nau fehiʻa ki he tui fakalotú pea lau ko ha meʻa ia ʻoku ʻikai totonu ke tokanga ki ai ha kakai poto, he kapau ʻoku ʻikai ke ʻi ai ha maʻu fakahā, ʻoku hoko leva ʻa e tuifakalotú ko ha manuki mo ha meʻa noa pē. . . . ʻOku hoko ʻa e tefitoʻi moʻoni ʻo e maʻu fakahā ʻi he lolotonga ní, . . . ko e fakavaʻe ia ʻo ʻetau tui fakalotú.”12

Ko e tefitoʻi moʻoni koā ʻo e maʻu fakahā he lolotongá? Ko e makatuʻunga koā ia ʻo ʻetau tui fakalotú? ʻOku ou fie foki mei he ngaahi makatuʻunga ko iá ki he lolotongá ni, ʻa e taimí ni, ʻa ia ko e senituli 21. ʻOku kei tatau pē ʻa e meʻa ia ʻoku tokanga ki ai ʻa e kakai kotoa pē . . . ʻa e kau faifekau fakalotú, kau faʻu hisitōliá, pea mo e kakaí. ʻOku fakaava mai ʻa e ngaahi langí? ʻOku fakahā nai ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻa Hono finangaló ki he kau palōfitá mo e kau ʻaposetoló, ʻo hangē ko e ngaahi kuonga ʻi muʻá? ʻOku kei hoko ia, pea ʻokú Ne kei fakahoko ia, ko e pōpoaki mālohi ia ʻa e Siasi ʻo Sīsū Kalaisi ʻo e Kau Māʻoniʻoni ʻi he Ngaahi ʻAho Kimui Ní ki he māmaní kotoa. Pea ʻoku ʻi he fakahā ko iá ʻa hono mahuʻinga ʻo e moʻui ʻa Siosefa Sāmitá, ko e Palōfita, ʻi he taʻu ʻe meimei 200 ko ʻení.

Kuo fehuʻi pea tali ʻe heʻene moʻuí ʻa e fehuʻi ko ʻení, “ʻOkú ke tui nai ʻoku folofola mai ʻa e ʻOtua ki he tangatá? ʻOku tau “[fakamālō ki he ʻOtuá, koeʻuhí ko ha Palōfita ke ne tataki kitautolu ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho fakaʻosi ko ʻení,]14 koeʻuhí he ʻe lahi e ngaahi ʻaho ʻo e faingataʻá. ʻOku tau fakafetaʻi koeʻuhí ko e pongipongi ko ia ʻi he faʻahitaʻu failau ʻo e 1820, ʻa ia naʻe hā mai ai ʻa e Tamaí mo e ʻAló ʻi he nāunauʻia ki ha kiʻi talavou taʻu 14. ʻOku tau fakafetaʻi koeʻuhí ko e pongipongi ko ia naʻe haʻu ai ʻa Pita, Sēmisi, mo Sione ʻo fakafoki mai ai ʻa e ngaahi kī ʻo e Lakanga Fakataulaʻeiki Māʻoniʻoní pea mo hono ngaahi lakangá kotoa.
