“ʻOku kovi ange ʻa e ponokalafí pe talanoá mo e ʻata fakalieliá, ʻi he ʻulí pe meʻakai kuo mafú. ʻOku ʻi ai ha maluʻi ʻo e sinó ke ne fakamaʻa pē ia mei he meʻakai ʻoku koví. ʻOku hanga ʻe he meʻakai koví ʻo fakatupu haʻo puke ka ʻoku ʻikai ke ne uesia tuʻuloa koe, tuku kehe pē ʻi ha ngaahi meʻa siʻi ʻe niʻihi. ʻI he tafaʻaki ʻe tahá, ko ia ʻoku keinanga ʻi he talanoa fakalieliá pe ponokalafi mo e ngaahi ʻata pe tohi ʻulí, ʻoku ne lekooti ia ʻi ha mīsini ʻoku lava ʻo maʻu maʻu pē mei ai ʻoku ui ko e ʻutó. He ʻikai puʻaki mai ʻe he ʻutó ia ʻa e ʻulí. Ko ʻene hili pē hono lekōtí, ʻe ʻi ai maʻu ai pē ia ki hano toe fie maʻu he kahaʻú, ʻo ne toutou fakamanatu e ngaahi ʻīmisi taʻe feʻungá ki ho ʻatamaí, mo tohoakiʻi koe mei he ngaahi meʻa lelei ʻo e moʻuí.”1

Kāinga, ʻoku ʻilo ia ʻe he taha ʻoku ʻefihia hení, pea pehē foki ki he ʻEikí.

Ko e taha ʻo e ngaahi akonaki fakangalongataʻa taha ʻa e Fakamoʻuí ʻoku fekauʻaki ia mo e sio fakapulipuli he ponokalafí.

“ʻE malaʻia ʻa kimoutolu, ko e kau tangata tohi mo e [kau] Fālesi, ko e [kau] mālualoi! he ʻoku mou fakamaʻa ʻa e tuʻa ipu inú mo e ipu kaí, ka ʻoku fonu ʻi loto ʻi he fakamālohi mo e holi kovi.

“ʻA e [kau] Fālesi kui, tomuʻa fakamaʻa ʻa e loto ipu inú mo e ipu kaí, koeʻuhí ke maʻa ai foki ʻa e tuʻa ipú” (Matiu 23:25-26; vakai foki, ʻAlama 60:23).

Ne hoko atu ʻa e Fakamoʻuí heʻene fakahalaki kinautolu ʻoku tokanga ki he meʻa ʻoku hā ki tuʻá kae taʻe tokanga ke fakamaʻa e tangata ʻi lotó:

“ʻOku pehē pē ʻa kimoutolu foki, ʻoku mou hā māʻoniʻoni ki tuʻa ki he kakaí, ka ʻoku mou fonu ʻi loto ʻi he mālualoí mo e angahalá” (Mātiu 23:27–28).

ʻOku fakatuʻutāmaki fau ʻa e ngaahi nunuʻa fakalaumālie vavé, ki he faʻahinga mālualoi peheé. ʻOku toe mole foki ʻe kinautolu ʻoku fakaʻaongaʻi e ponokalafí, ʻa e feohi ʻo e Laumālié. ʻOku fakatupu ʻe he ponokalafí ha ʻāʻāvea ʻokú ne fakaʻauha ʻa e tuʻunga fakalaumālié. “Ko e loto fakakakanó, ko e mate ia”—ʻo mate fakalaumālie (Loma 8:6; vakai foki, 2 Nīfai 9:39).

Ne lau ʻe Palesiteni Hingikelí ʻi heʻene lea ki he houʻeiki tangata ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí ʻi ʻOkatopá, ha tohi ʻa ha fefine ne kole mai ki ai ke fakatokanga ki he kāingalotu ʻo e Siasí ko e ponokalafi “ʻokú ne maumauʻi ʻa e lotó mo e laumālié ʻo aʻu ki he taupotu tahá, mo ne fakaʻauha ʻa e ngaahi fetuʻutakí” (Liahona, Nōvema 2004, 59).

ʻI ha konifelenisi fakasiteiki ki muí ni mai, ne mono mai ʻe ha fefine ha tohi tatau pē. Ne fua ʻe hono husepānití ʻi ha ngaahi taʻu lahi ha ngaahi fatongia fakasiasi mahuʻinga ka ne maʻu ia ʻe he ponokalafí. Ne fakamatala ai ki hono faingataʻa ke fakamātoatoʻi ʻe he kau taki lakanga fakataula- ʻeikí e palopalema ponokalafí ni: “Ne u maʻu ha ngaahi tali kehekehe ʻo hangē ʻoku ou ʻafaʻi pe ko haku foʻui pē ʻoʻokú. ʻOku sai ʻaupito ʻemau pīsope lolotongá. Ko e taʻu ʻeni ʻe 15 pea kuo feinga ʻeni hoku husepānití ke ikuʻi ʻene palopalemá, ka ʻoku faingataʻa ange ke tuku he ʻosi ko ʻeni e taʻu ʻe 15, pea ʻikai ha faʻa lau ia ki he mole kuo hokó.”

ʻOku uesia ʻe he ponokalafí ʻa e malava ʻa ha taha ke fiefia ʻi ha feohi fakaeloto, feʻofaʻakí pea mo fakalaumālie lelei mo ha fefine. ʻOkú ne holoki e mālohi ʻokú ne taʻofi ʻa e tōʻonga taʻe taau, taʻe totonu, mo taʻe fakalaó. Pea ʻi hono fakaʻuliʻi ʻo e konisēnisí, ʻoku tuku ai kinautolu ʻoku fakaʻaongaʻi e ponokalafí ke nau faʻifaʻitaki ʻa e meʻa ʻoku nau mamata aí, tatau ai pē pe ko e hā hono kovi ki heʻenau moʻuí mo e kakai kehé.

ʻOku toe maʻunimā foki ʻe he ponokalafí ʻa e taha ko iá. ʻOkú ne holoki e ivi fakakaukau leleí pea “haʻi” ʻa kinautolu ʻoku nau ngāueʻakí, ʻo fakatūkia lahi kiate kinautolu. Ne tohi mai ha tangata ne maʻu ʻe he ponokalafí mo e faitoʻo kona tapú, ʻo kau ki hono fakatātaá: “Ko ʻeku vakaí, ʻoku ʻikai mafakatataua ʻa e kōkeiní ia ki heni. Kuó u ʻosi ʻahiʻahiʻi fakatouʻosi. . . . Naʻa mo hono tuku ʻo e faitoʻo kona tapú, ʻoku ʻikai teitei tatau ia mo e [feinga ke tuku ʻa e ponokalafí]” (tohi ʻo e ‘aho 20 Māʻasi, 2005).

ʻOku kumi tonuhia ha niʻihi ʻo pehē tokua ʻoku nau sio pē he ponokalafi ʻoku “ʻikai fuʻu koví” kae ʻikai ko e ponokalafi ʻoku “kovi ʻaupitó.” ʻOku ui ʻeni ʻe ha pīsope poto ko e taʻe fie lau ʻo e koví ko e kovi. Ko e taimi ʻoku fakaili ai ʻe he kakaí ʻa e fakakaukau koví ke ngāue ʻo aʻu ki ha tuʻunga ʻoku mahuʻi ai e Laumālié, ʻoku mole leva honau maluʻi fakalaumālié pea nau moʻulaloa ki he mālohi mo e fakahinohino ʻa e taha angakoví. ʻI heʻenau fakaʻaongaʻi ʻa e ʻinitanetí pe ngaahi ponokalafi kehé ki he meʻa ko ia ʻoku fakamatalaʻi ʻe he pīsopé ni ko e “fakaʻaiʻai hono fiemaʻú,” (tohi ʻo e 13 Māʻasi, 2005), ʻoku ʻuliʻi lahi ai kinautolu ʻe he angahalá.

ʻOku fakamatalaʻi ʻe he malanga maʻongoʻonga ʻa e Tuʻi ko Penisimaní, ʻa hono ngaahi nunuʻa koví. ʻI he taimi ʻoku tau fakamavaheʻi ai kitautolu mei he Laumālie ʻo e ʻEikí, ʻoku tau hoko ai ko e fili ʻo e māʻoniʻoní, ʻoku mahino kiate kitautolu ʻa ʻetau halaiá, pea ʻoku tau “[mahuʻi ai] mei he ʻao ʻo e ʻEikí” (vakai, Mōsaia 2:36–38). Naʻá ne pehē, “ʻOku ʻikai maʻu ʻe he ʻaloʻofá hano mafai ki he tangata ko iá, ko ia, ko hono tautea fakaʻosí ke ne kātekina ʻa e fakamamahi taʻengatá” (v. 39).

Fakakaukau angé ki he sīpinga fakamamahi ʻi he Tuʻi ko Tēvitá. Naʻe fakamatalaʻi ia ʻe ʻAlamā ko e Siʻí:

“ʻIo, ne u manatuʻi ʻeku ngaahi angahalá mo ʻeku ngaahi hia kotoa pē, ʻa ia naʻe fakamamahi ai au ʻaki ʻa e ngaahi mamahi ʻo helí. . . .

“. . . Naʻe tautea hoku lotó ʻi he fuʻu ilifia fakaʻulia ʻi he fakakaukau pē ki he hū ki he ʻao ʻo hoku ʻOtuá. . . .

“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē lolotonga hoku fakamamahiʻi peheʻi ʻi he mamahi ʻi he tautea hoku lotó ʻi he manatu ki heʻeku ngaahi fuʻu angahalá, ʻiloange ne u manatuʻi foki ʻeku fanongo ki ha kikite ʻa ʻeku tamaí ki he kakaí ʻa ia naʻe kau ki he hāʻele mai ʻa ha toko taha, ʻa ia ko Sīsū Kalaisi, ko ha ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá, ke ne totongi ki he ngaahi angahala ʻa māmaní.

“Ko ʻeni, ʻi he langaki mai ʻa e fakakaukaú ni ki hoku lotó, ne u tangi ʻi hoku lotó: ʻE Sīsū, ko e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtua, ʻaloʻofa mai kiate au, ʻa ia ʻoku ʻi he ʻahu ʻo e mamahí pea kuo takatakai ʻiate au ʻa e ngaahi haʻi taʻengata ʻo e maté.

“Pea ko ʻeni vakai, ʻi heʻeku fakakaukau ki aí, naʻe ʻikai te u toe lava ke manatuʻi ʻa ʻeku ngaahi mamahí, ʻio, naʻe ʻikai ke toe tautea hoku lotó ʻi heʻeku manatu ki heʻeku ngaahi angahalá.

“Pea hono ʻikai ke lahi ʻa e fiefia mo e fuʻu maama fakaofo ne u vakai ki aí; ʻio, naʻe fonu hoku lotó ʻi he fuʻu fiefia naʻe tatau hono lahí mo ʻeku mamahí! (ʻAlamā 36:13–14, 17–20).

Ki hoku ngaahi tokoua ko ē ʻoku fihia pe uesia ʻe he fakatauele ko ʻení, ʻoku ʻi ai pē founga.

Pea ʻe kau finemui, kātaki ʻo ʻiloʻi kapau te ke vala taʻe feʻunga, te ke fakalahiʻi ʻa e palopalemá ni ʻaki hoʻo hoko ko e ʻata ʻo e ponokalafí ki ha niʻihi ʻo e kau tangata ʻoku mamata atú.
