Twitter currently allows you to receive text messages on your phone. You can follow the Church's inspiritational messages account (@LDSMessages) and indicate in your Twitter profile that you want to receive text messsages when @LDSMessages publishes a tweet.

Inspirational messages are published on the Church's main Facebook account once a week. Visit the page and click the "Like" button at the top to get updates from the Church in your personal news feed.
