JOB DESCRIPTION: CUSTODY AND OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

Position Purpose: To assist in the necessary daily, weekly, and monthly duties of the custody and operations department, in order to successfully retain the custody accounts and maintain trust account operations.

Reports To: Vice President of Custody and Operations/Treasurer

Essential Functions:

  1. Primary backup for the Trust Systems Operator.
  2. Perform all the necessary operational activities for the Online Donor Advised Funds.
  3. Scans all necessary documents that are not electronically captured.
  4. Reviews and develops the archival and indexing scheme for the company.
  5. Retrieves records for Deseret Trust Company employees as needed.
  6. Votes proxies for stockholder meetings as received from various corporations.
  7. Reconciles the monthly Fifth Third statements to ensure the daily trades are processed without error.
  8. Keeps track of and files all applicable class actions and makes sure the necessary steps are taken to protect the company.
  9. Tracks applicable international corporate actions and follows through to ensure they are processed correctly.
  10. Obtains and input prices for all assets held by Deseret Trust Company, Beneficial Financial Group, and Deseret Mutual Benefits Administrators.
  11. Reviews the collateralization for the securities lent, to ensure the Company is not over exposed.
  12. Prepares all the necessary security lending reports as assigned on a monthly basis.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions of this Position:

  1. A Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting, or Associates Degree in Finance/Accounting with 2-3 years experience.
  2. Mastery of the Microsoft and Corel office suite.
  3. A current working knowledge of investments and investment transactions handling.
  4. A good understanding of computer operations, both networked and non-networked.

Special qualifications: Integrity, able to act politely and effectively under pressure with a wide range of people. This job has an inherent need for dependability under adverse circumstances. Must be able to handle large volumes of work effectively. Light to moderate lifting is also inherent to the position.
