Rickey N. Garner

Trust Officer

Rickey N. Garner has been with Deseret Trust Company since 1999. Prior to joining Deseret Trust Company, he worked in the trust departments of two national banks with offices in Utah, serving as a trust administrator, fiduciary auditor, compliance officer, and operations supervisor. He administers approximately 235 accounts at Deseret Trust Company.

His main responsibilities include:

  • Secretary of the Trust Acceptance and Termination Committee
  • Member of the following committees: Investment Review; Policy and Procedure; Business Development; and Regulatory Compliance and Discretionary Distributions
  • Employee campaign chairman for United Way of Salt Lake
  • Board member of various support organizations for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of arts (political science) – Idaho State University
  • Graduate of Cannon Trust School – CTFA (Certified Trust Financial Advisor)
  • Graduate of Cannon Trust Audit and Compliance School – CTA (Certified Trust Auditor)
  • Completed Real Estate Essentials from Pioneer Title Company
  • Member of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council
