R. Scott Nielsen

Vice President of Custody Services

R. Scott Nielsen has been with Deseret Trust Company since 2002. His experience prior to joining Deseret Trust Company was with Novell, Inc., most recently as a business unit controller.

His main responsibilities include:

• Providing the overall direction and vision of the Custody Services Department and its employees.
• Overseeing the safekeeping of customer and company assets.
• Working with operations risk management.
• Overseeing all custody services, including settlement of trades, class and corporate actions, posting, pricing, proxy services, and more.
• Overseeing the Securities Lending Program.
• Managing external banking, broker, and depository relationships.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of science (accounting) – Brigham Young University
• Bachelor of science (accounting) – University of Utah
• Master of business administration (MBA) – Westminster College
• Certified Securities Operations Professional (CSOP)
