General Relief Society Meeting Event Description The general Relief Society meeting will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. Messages will be given by a member of the First Presidency and each member of the Relief Society general presidency. The choir for the meeting will be composed of sisters from stakes in Alpine and Highland, Utah. The general Relief Society meeting will be broadcast around the world via the Church satellite system. The meeting will also be available through the Internet at www.lds.org. The broadcast will begin at 6:00 p.m. mountain daylight time and will be rebroadcast two hours later on KBYU channel 11. Sisters are encouraged to gather together in their local wards or stakes to participate in this meeting. Dates and Location Saturday, September 27, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. Conference Center Auditorium Tickets Tickets are required for this event. Reserved seat tickets will be distributed to selected stakes in the Utah North, Utah South, and Utah Salt Lake areas. The Presidency of the Seventy determines on a rotational basis which stakes receive tickets. Individuals or groups outside the above areas wishing to attend the general Relief Society meeting should contact the Conference Center ticket office toll-free at 1-866-537-8457 (1-866-LDS-TIKS). Special Considerations Tickets are required for this event. Those with tickets should be in their seats by 5:30 p.m. Standby seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The standby line is formed at the north gate of Temple Square. For this event, admission to the Conference Center is limited to women ages 18 and older. No babies, please. Wheelchair seating is available. Patrons who require such seating should inform Guest Services when they arrive at the event. Interpretation by an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter is available for this event. Patrons who require such seating should inform Guest Services when they arrive at the event. Those who attend are encouraged to park in designated parking areas. The Conference Center doors open at 4:30 p.m. The length of the meeting is approximately 90 minutes.
