179th Semiannual General Conference Event Description The 179th Semiannual General Conference of the Church will convene in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday and Sunday, October 3-4, 2009. The Saturday general sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.; Sunday sessions will be held at 9:30 a.m. (which includes Music and the Spoken Word) and 2:00 p.m. The general priesthood meeting will be held in the Conference Center on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. Dates and Location Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-4, 2009 Conference Center Auditorium Tickets Tickets are required for admission to sessions in the Conference Center. To obtain tickets, please contact your local priesthood leader. International Visitors Those visiting from outside the United States and Canada who have been in the country less than six months may be eligible to receive tickets to general conference. These individuals may enter at door 5 of the Conference Center beginning Monday, September 28, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. to obtain tickets. In order to receive tickets, a valid passport and I-94 form will be required to determine eligibility. Each individual seeking to obtain tickets must come in person. (International students are not eligible through this program and are encouraged to contact their local priesthood leaders.) International ticket distribution hours: Monday, September 28, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009, 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Special Considerations Admission to the Conference Center is limited to those ages 8 and older for general sessions and 12 years and older for the priesthood session. No babies, please. Those attending are encouraged to park in designated parking areas only. Wheelchair seating is available. Patrons who require such seating should inform Guest Services when they arrive at the event. Interpretation by an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter is available. Language translation headsets are available. Sunday dress is encouraged. For general conference sessions, the Conference Center doors will open 90 minutes before the session start time. The length of each session is 2 hours.
