Biography: |
Kip W. Jenkins is the eldest of five children born to Newel Whitney Jenkins, Jr. and Dorothy R. Fitts. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. When he was 13 his family moved to Boise, Idaho where he graduated from Capital High School. He served in the Northern States Mission and after eight months serving in central Illinois, he was called to help open the Chicago Spanish Mission. He is married to the former Cheri Lee Howard from Idaho Falls, Idaho and they are the parents of six children.
Brother Jenkins obtained his BA from Boise State University, his MS from the University of Utah and his Ph.D from Brigham Young University.
He has served as an Aaronic Priesthood and YM advisor, scout leader, High Counselor, Branch President and Bishop. He served as 2nd Counselor in the Moscow Idaho University Stake Presidency and is currently the Stake Executive Secretary for the Moscow Idaho Stake.
