Biography: |
My wife’s name is Ruby, and we have been married for 35 years. We have two children, a son who is 35 and a daughter who is 32. We also have 5 grandchildren, 3 girls and 2 boys.
I am currently retired. I worked for civil service for both the Army and Navy. I taught early morning seminary in Germany for the servicemen's kids and also in Poulsbo for a combined total of 8 years. I have taught Institute for 5 years.
Our family moved to WA from Germany in 1977; we went back to Germany from 1985-90 and have lived here in Washington ever since.
If I could meet someone from the distant past it would be Christ and my Heavenly parents. I would also like tomeet Nephi, Captain Moroni, and also Mormon.
My favorite time of year is springtime. It represents re-birth and a new start. A favorite place I would like to visit or places I have visited are Jerusalem and Nauvoo. My favorite temple is the Salt Lake Temple where Ruby and I were married, but the prettiest is the San Diego Temple.
My most memorable experience meeting a General Authority was when I met David B Haight in Germany in the mid 70’s, and Pres. Spencer W. Kimball at an Area Conference in Dortmund Germany also in the mid 70’s.
Matt 7:1 is my favorite scripture and this is why. The King James version always gave me problems as a youth because it appeared to be in direct opposition to the rest of the scriptures requiring me to learn and decide issues. When I got a copy of the RLDS Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible in the early 70’s before the new LDS scriptures incorporated the JST, I found the correction by Joseph. I knew then for sure that it was an inspired work because it fixes the problem.
My Great Great Great grand father was a captain of 100 under Heber C. Kimball on the trek to Utah. He mentions the hymn Come Come Ye Saints in his diary as a great spiritual boost for the saints in their adversity. As a result of this story, the hymn Come Come Ye Saints is my favorite hymn.
