Elder and Sister Harmer - Volunteer Faculty

Biography:

Elder and Sister Harmer are CES Missionaries at San Jose. Elder Chet Harmer was born in Torrance, CA. and reared in Utah and Idaho. He served in the Eastern States Mission. He received a B.S. and a M.A. in accounting from BYU, and is a CPA. He has been employed in San Jose since 1967 in financial management and has taught at San Jose, West Valley College and DeAnza College. He is presently employed as an operations consultant. He has served as Bishopric Counselor, Stake Young Men's President, High Counselor, High Priest Group Leader, and Elders Quorum President. Sister Marilyn Harmer was born in Salt Lake City, and reared in Twin Falls, Idaho. She graduated in English from Utah State University. She put aside her teaching career to rear a family. She has served in numerous ward and stake callings, including Gospel Doctrine and Early Morning Seminary teacher. She and Elder Harmer are the parents of six children and have twelve grandchildren.
