Teaches institute in Manhattan and Brooklyn
Moved to New York City with his wife Christy three months ago from Illinois
Received his BA from BYU in Near Eastern Studies and an MA from the University of Chicago in ancient Semitic languages; he is working on a PhD.
He has been an institute teacher for six years and has taught courses at BYU in New Testament, Old Testament, Book of Mormon and the Ancient World, the book of Genesis, Biblical Hebrew, and the Pearl of Great Price.
“I like the "A-ha" moments students get in class, particularly when it’s something they've known about but perhaps never really understood, as if the class is subtitled "The Old Testament: Finally Making Some Sense.”
“I hope that students take away a deeper understanding and application of such basics as covenant, faith, and the atonement of Jesus Christ. Perhaps most of all, I want to help students learn how to spiritually survive and thrive in an uncorrelated world.”
