How many are in your YSA program?
It constantly changes. The YSA activities are now under the direction of the Branch Presidentss and not the Institute, though we fully support each other. We have anywhere from 150 to 300 students who come and go depending on the time of year, but the YSA are always very active and involved in this area.

Can married couples attend Institute?
Absolutely! Many married couples enjoy taking an Institute class together because it helps to build their relationship spiritually. For married students, continuing Institute attendance until graduation helps insure a well-balanced education.
|
Are Modesto Institute classes transferable to other institutes and Church schools?
Yes, with some stipulations. All classes at the Modesto Institute are fully transferable to any other Institutes, and we in turn accept Institute credit earned anywhere in the world. Most of our classes can be accepted for credit at BYU, BYU-I, BYU-H, & LDSBC. Church school credit requires some additional work and a final exam. Church schools limit total religious transfer credit and limit which classes they will accept (must bee a 100 level course or higher). Contact the Institue for more detailed information.

I am still in high school (or under 18) may I participate in Institute?
Anyone attending college or anyone already graduated from high school and in the 18-30 age group is invited to join us for Institute. Those still attending high school may attend the Institute Night Class with permission from their parents, their Priesthood Leader and the Institute Director. Generally speaking it is not appropriate to substitute Institute or YSA activities for Seminary or YM/YW activities.
