ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
How do I register for an institute class online?
Just click on the "Register for Classes" hyperlink on the left side of the screen and follow the links. Or you may call the institute (541-482-3628), come into the office and register in person, or register with the teacher at the first class you attend.
Where can I go to make new friends?
The best way to make new friends is to be involved at the Institute. Take a class, serve on a student council committee, come to Friday Forum and have lunch, or play ping-pong.
If I am not a college student, may I still attend institute?
All young adults 18-30 are welcome to register for classes and attend activities at the Institute. Married student's spouses may also attend institute classes.
What is LDSSA?
LDSSA stands for Latter-day Saint Student Association. Its purpose is to help students at colleges and universities have a balanced secular and spiritual educational experience. LDSSA is recognized at Southern Oregon University, Oregon Institute of Technology, and Rogue Community College, Medford Campus.
I am over 30 and would like to attend classes. What can I do?
The Medford Stake has sponsored an Adult Religion class for any interested person over the age of 18 from both the Medford and Central Point stakes. The class is taught Tuesday evenings from 6-7 PM at the Brookhurst Chapel seminary room. The instructor is Alan Hassell. For more information call the Institute or check your ward bulletin board.
How do I get credit for religion classes taken elsewhere transferred to the Ashland Institute of Religion?
If you have taken religion classes at other church schools, simply bring in a copy of your transcript and we will enter your credit into our computer. If you've taken institute classes elswhere, just let us know where and when and we will call and have them send us a transcript.
May I store food in the refrigerator
Yes, but put your name on it so people won't think it's there for everyone. You are welcome to use the microwave, stove, etc. but clean up after yourself! Thank you!
How do I check out a book from the library?
By filling out the card in the pocket with the date and your name and leaving it at the front desk with Sister T. You may check the book out for three weeks.
