ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
What is there in Saskatoon for a Young Single Adult?
Saskatoon is the largest city in Saskatchewan, with a population of about 200,000 people. It is home to several fine educational institutions, such as the University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (Kelsey). The U of S is a large university with an enrollment of over 20,000 and offers programs in medicine, dentistry, law, engineering, education, vet. medicine, commerce, agriculture, and arts and sciences. The Kelsey campus of SIAST offers students a wide variety of technical training rangeing from trades to informaiton technology. We have a very active young single adult branch (Saskatoon 4th Branch), which has been in operation since 1998. For more information about us, contact the institute director.
Where are we located?
Saskatoon is in central Saskatchewan, about 8 hours west of Winnipeg or 7 hours east of Calgary. The Regina temple is located just two and a half hours south-east (in Regina). Institute classes are currently held at the stake centre on the corner of 10th and Cumberland, just a few blocks south of the University.
How do I find out about Institute activites?
The calendar on this web site will be updated as soon as the information is known. It is the best resource. If you are new in town, just visiting, or contemplating a move, contact us via email (on the main welcome screen), we will be glad to help.
Can I use the Institute to study for other classes?
Yes-Students are encouraged to meet with friends, study, or relax at the institute. However, the institute lounge is currently under construction.
