What is the purpose of Institute?
Institute gives young adults an opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ. It also gives them a chance to meet and socialize with other individuals with like beliefs and standards.
Who can come to Institute?
Institute classes are for young adults, between the age of 18-30, single or married.
What type of classes are offered?
We can offer quite a variety of religion classes, for example we have classes on: the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, Church History, Doctrines of the Gospel, and Teachings of the Living Prophets ~ to name a few. This year we are studying the Doctrine and Covenants and we are also offering a Mission Preparation class.
Where are classes offered?
Classes are scheduled during the week at the University of Manitoba, on Thursday evenings at 505 Academy Road beginning at 7:00 p.m., and in Brandon MB.
How do I enroll?
Enrolling is easy … just attend and fill in a short registration form.
How much does it cost to attend Institute of Religion classes?
There is no cost involved to attend the Institute of Religion. An optional Student Manual is available for each of the classes and can be purchased at a nominal cost.
What are the dress standards?
Clothing should be modest in style, neat and clean. Students should maintain modesty in their appearance and avoid extremes in their clothing and hair style.
Who can attend the YSA Activities?
Young Single Adult activities are for Young Single Adults, aged 18—30.
