| Why should I take institute? |
| Elder Perry: "Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley has said... 'We urge all for whom it is available to take advantage of institute. We do not hesitate to promise that your knowledge of the gospel will be increased, your faith will be strengthened, and you will develop wonderful associations and friendships' (Ensign, May ‘84, 47)… The power that comes from institute…will put a shield of protection around you to keep you free from the temptations and trials of the world... I know of no better place for the young people…than in the institute" (“Receive Truth,” Ensign, Nov. ‘97, 60). Elder Eyring: "We should always put spiritual learning first…that is why the Church has placed institutes of religion across the earth wherever young members are gathered in sufficient numbers. Their spiritual education in the institute will shape the purpose and speed the process of their secular learning (D&C 88:76-80)" (CES Fireside for Young Adults, 6 May 2001). |
