ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
Who’s eligible to attend Institute?
Anyone who is 18-30 and is single is welcome to attend, whether enrolled in college or not. Married college students in that same age group are also welcome to attend.
Where is the Auburn seminary building?
The Auburn Seminary building is located at 331 4th street N.E. (approximately two blocks west of Auburn High School). From the Auburn Way/4th Street intersection go east on 4th Street. The Seminary is less than a block on the left. Phone number is 253 833 6073
Can I start attending class in the middle of the quarter?
No problem. Every week several new students attend our classes, so just show up as soon as you’re able.
Are Institute classes boring?
Absolutely not. CES guidelines strictly prohibit being boring or being bored in Institute. Seriously, Institute is full of students who actively participate in class and teachers who strive to bring the Gospel alive and apply it to our lives.
Are there refreshments?
Some scholars speculate that refreshments and basketball may be two of the plain and precious truths deleted from the Old Testament. And while we don’t have a hoop in our classrooms yet, our evening classes and most of our activities usually do have refreshments.
Where do the daytime classes meet?
GRCC classes meet in Student Gallery (SG) 59. If you’re headed west on Mathews Way (the main sidewalk through campus), take a right just across from the Performing Arts Building. SG 59 is a small round building with glass walls located about 50 feet up the path. People inside studying scriptures or singing hymns will be a dead give-away that you’ve found the right spot. HCC class location vary. Please check with the instructor prior to class.
Is there a pattern to the location and times for Institute firesides?
Please check our calendar for dates and locations for our Institute firesides.
Where is the Auburn North Building?
You'll find the Auburn North Building at 625 M. St. N.E., near the intersection of 8th St. N.E. and M St. (where M becomes Harvey Road). From the Auburn Seminary Building, head east on 4th Street past the high school to the stop light (a total of four or five blocks). Take a left at the light on M Street, and you'll find the building on the left after two and a half blocks. Or if you're coming into town on Valley Freeway (Highway 167), take the 15th Street N.W. exit and head east into town. Continue straight on 15th Street past Auburn Way North as 15th becomes Harvey Road. Stay on Harvey Road until it intersects with 8th Street and becomes M Street. You'll find the building on your right, just past the intersection with 8th Street.
Where is the Kent Stake Center?
Kent Stake Center is located on the east hill of Kent at 12817 SE 256th St. From downtown Kent, take Smith St. up the hill past Kent Meridian High School. Continue straight on SE 256th rather than veering off on Kent Kangley. The stake center is just past 124th.
How do I get to the Maple Valley Stake Center?
From Highway 18, take the S.E. 272nd exit and head east. Stay on that street, which changes names, for several miles until you see a beautiful stake center on your left. The address is 26800 236th Pl. S.E., Maple Valley.
Where is the Renton Stake Center?
From Highway 167, take the 212th exit and head east (up the hill). At the top, turn left on 108th Ave SE. Turn left onto SE 200th St. Turn right onto 106th Ave SE. The building will be on your right.
Where is the Anderson Barn?
From Valley Freeway (167), take the 180th St. exit and turn right on 180th, which eventually becomes Petrovisky Road. Don’t be alarmed. Follow it about 90 blocks to 196th St., where you’ll turn left. Drive about four blocks (OK, exactly four blocks) to 192nd and turn right. You’ll find the barn on your right after about three blocks. We’ll have a sign, some balloons, and maybe someone in a gorilla suit. (OK, probably not the gorilla suit part.) The address is 20245 S.E. 192nd Street, Renton, 98058.
