| What do I need to do to get my institute credits to transfer to BYI-Idaho. How many credits is each class worth? |
| This is a wonderful question, and one we hear often. Most of the institute classes will transfer to the Church schools, but there are a couple of things you need to know.
1) It will NOT transfer as "religion" credit, but to fill another requirement in the social sciences generally.
2) When registering for an intsitute class locally, you need to be sure to check the box at the bottom of the form indicating you want to transfer the credit
3) Be sure to mention this to your teacher, as they will need to give you outside work, and a final exam/paper.
4) The credit CAN NOT be transferred until you are registered at the Church School.

| I am considering attending UTA this fall and would like to know more about the atmosphere of the area, the institute program and the students attending the university there. I am looking forward to moving to Texas and just want an idea of what I am getting into. |
| Depending on where you are coming from (mountainous or cold), Texas can be a change. It is extrememly green and lush...also warm and humid in the heat of summer (great for the skin).
Arlington is a wonderful, family-centered town. The University of Texas at Arlington is 2nd largest in the UT system (almost 30,000 students and the attendant programs), with the bulk of the students being commuter students (living at home). There is an abundance of highly recognized programs.
Along with UT, there is an abundance of work opportunities (only those who DON'T want to work go without a job here). With the Texas Rangers and 6 Flags over Texas (and soon the Dallas Cowboys), Arlington has an abundance of recreational opportunities also.
There is an active and vibrant singles ward in Arlington (also Ft. Worth and Colleyville). And of course an up and coming institute program, with classes both day and night (during the school year).
Come and enjoy! |

| What employment opportunities are available in the Arlington area? |
| The employment for students if abundant in the Arlington area. Your best bet would be to e-mail the regional LDS employment resource services at wel-ec-dallas@ldschurch.org. You can get information for a regional and stake area from them. The Arlington Stake Employment specialist, Brett Bell can be reached at bgbell@comcast.net. |

| Is there someplace I can get information about the singles activities in the Dallas metroplex area? |
| YES! A web site has just been approved for the entire metroplex area. You can find it at dfwysa.net. Additionally, each singles unit has an active web page which can be accessed from the church website (lds.org). |
