I used to wonder, does God love His children today as much as He did anciently? I now know that God is an unchangeable God. His love for His children today is as deep as it was in the days of old. Just as God called Moses to lead and guide the people of Israel, He has called prophets to lead and guide us today, such as Joseph Smith.
Wicked men crucified Jesus Christ, but three days later, Mary saw and testified of the resurrected Savior. Wicked men also killed the Lord’s apostles and prophets, but God raised up another prophet to restore His gospel. He chose Joseph Smith to restore the fulness of the gospel with all the authority.
When Joseph Smith was 14, he did not know which church to join. He went and asked God in prayer. Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father appeared. He saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and became an instrument in God’s hands to restore this gospel. He testified of this truth. He declared it to the world.
Wicked men killed him because of the things he testified. He was an instrument in God’s hands, and restored the fulness of this gospel and all its authority. I know he was a prophet who was called of God. Anyone who wants to know the truth concerning this can know by asking God. If they sincerely ask Him, they will know that Joseph Smith was indeed the prophet of this dispensation. I bear witness of this truth in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
