What It Is
Two aspects of the mission of BYU–Idaho are to “build testimonies of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ through living its principles” and to “maintain a wholesome academic, cultural, social, and spiritual environment.” In many ways, these goals are accomplished through the enhancement of the arts in the lives of the students and those in the university community.
Why It Is a Priority
The Eliza R. Snow Society for the Performing and Visual Arts has been established to make it possible for BYU–Idaho students to develop their talents and achieve their full potential in the arts.
What It Does and How It Helps
Currently, the Snow Society is raising funds for the purchase of a Steinway Concert Grand Piano built in Hamburg, Germany. With the addition of this elegantly complex instrument, thousands of performers and audiences in the Barrus Concert Hall at BYU–Idaho will enjoy the world-renowned richness of its music for generations to come.
