The BYU Telefund
The BYU Telefund: An important Connection for
Alumni and Friends
One
of the measures of a successful university is maintaining a strong
connection with alumni and friends. The students at the BYU Telefund
play a key role in maintaining that connection, updating records,
hearing concerns, and facilitating donations.
Thus the Telefund helps BYU to fulfill its role as a
Church sponsored university and paves the way for thousands of
students to "Enter to learn-go forth to serve." The purpose of the
Telefund is to help provide BYU with the resources to rise to the
highest standards of intellect, character, and spirituality. Over
the past 15 years, student callers have been responsible for raising
nearly $20 million for Church-sponsored universities.
The students at the Telefund learn firsthand how
their education is impacted by the generous donations of thousands
of alumni and friends by interacting with donors on a one-to-one
basis. The Telefund represents the students of today connecting with
the students of yesterday to aid the students of tomorrow.

Who Are the Callers at the Telefund?

Each
year, approximately 90 students are selected out of a pool of
hundreds of applicants to work at the Telefund on behalf of BYU-Provo
and BYU-Hawaii. They possess
enthusiasm and a commitment to helping these Church-sponsored
schools succeed. They adhere to the highest standards of
professionalism and courtesy.
Each caller plays a vital and valuable role as a
member of the Telefund team. In their respective roles, they speak
with many alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, and students of
Church institutions of higher education. The caller's most important
function is to be an ambassador for the universities.
