Growing up in rural Appalachia, Mark Drennen assumed he’d never go to college. Like many families in the area, the Drennens were not able to finance college. Mark had to help support his family by working part-time at the age of 14 and full-time by his 16th birthday. His older brother had to drop out of college to care for his family, so as Mark grew older, he believed a college education was beyond his grasp. Full Story |
