| Hong Kong Mormons Aid Earthquake Victims | |
Within days of the massive earthquake that rocked the Chinese province of Sichuan earlier this month, over 600 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Hong Kong traveled to a factory in Shenzhen, China, to assemble 10,000 emergency kits for victims.

| Three Stories, Three Sets of Blessings | |
| It was 6:45 p.m. on August 17, 2007, when a devastating 7.9 earthquake hit the coastal towns south of Lima, Peru. Hope crumbled as adobe homes tumbled to the ground. Over 500 people lost their lives, five of them members of the Church.
The following are stories of three families who feel that miracles played a part in sparing their lives during that catastrophe. These are stories about three families in San Clemente and La Villa, Peru, who experienced sacrifice, faith, courage, love, and indeed, many miracles.

| Young Mormons Bring Relief to Elderly Cut Off by Hong Kong Floods | |
HONG KONG - 19 June 2008 - Eighty volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worked with others in the community to bring fresh bread and bottled water to residents of the village of Tai O after recent flooding and mudslides.

| Members Recall Power of Prayer During Tornado | |
| News reports on May 25, 2008, predicted the mile-wide tornado that had wiped out half of Parkersburg, Iowa, would head north. But as Wes Godfrey videotaped the tornado from his home to the east in New Hartford, Iowa, the rotating funnel started to slowly fill up his camcorder’s screen.
Brother Godfrey rushed his 8-months-pregnant wife, Erin, and two children into their tornado shelter and huddled his family together to pray. As Brother Godfrey asked Heavenly Father to spare their lives and the lives of their neighbors, the Spirit touched his heart, and he immediately knew two things: (1) they would be okay, and (2) they were going to get hit.

| Church Aid Sent to Myanmar | |
SALT LAKE CITY - 19 May 2008 - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the United Parcel Service, and Atlanta-based CARE International shipped 142,000 pounds of medical and other supplies to Myanmar yesterday, to aid those affected by a recent cyclone.
The Church provided the supplies, UPS provided the transportation and CARE International will oversee distribution in Myanmar. The relief effort was made possible by leaders of CARE International who have established relationships with Myanmar officials.

| Church responds in China, Myanmar, and United States. | |
| The Church is currently responding to the critical needs of those suffering from major disasters that have affected the lives and well-being of thousands of people. These disasters include the recent devastating earthquake in central China and the widespread damage from Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, as well as tornadoes in multiple locations in the United States.

| Church's Wheelchair Initiative Turns a New Corner | |
SALT LAKE CITY -- Chris Jardine gingerly reached out with his fingerless hands to touch the new wheelchair he was just given. He lifted his body into the new chair, but after a moment he pulled himself out and went back into his old wheelchair.
“I want to wait and get up Christmas morning and have this be my Christmas gift,” Jardine said in his 10-by-10 room located in an old hospital in Mahaica, Guyana. Jardine was in dire need of a new wheelchair. His old one had loose and broken wheels, making transportation especially dangerous and difficult. The new chair would be more comfortable and safe for him as he dodged the holes and rocks in the streets of his neighborhood.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is providing four wheelchair models and job opportunities for wheelchair recipients around the world to address their unique needs. The religious faith of the recipients is not a factor.

| Mormon Volunteers Distribute 10,000 Cleaning Kits to Flood Victims | |
OLYMPIA, Washington - Thousands of volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints put on waterproof boots, heavy gloves and yellow “Mormon Helpings Hands” shirts this weekend to clean up homes and farms in Lewis County devastated by floods.
Trucks left Salt Lake City carrying over 10,000 cleaning kits to be used in the weekend-long relief efforts. The kits, packed in a reusable bucket, contain rubber gloves, brushes, sponges, rags, trash bags and cleansers.

| People in Need Helping Others in Need: Latter-day Saints respond to Mexican Flooding | |
Tens of thousands of homes and businesses have been destroyed or badly damaged in recent floods. Over 80 percent of the city of Villahermosa, Tabasco's state capital, has been affected, and much of the city remains without electricity and running water. Church leaders have been working with government agencies to provide support where needed, and local Church leaders throughout Tabasco are organizing Mormon teams to assist government and other community groups in the massive cleanup.

Now that more fires are contained and many of the evacuees of the California wildfires are able to return to their neighborhoods, thousands of volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are reaching out to those who have lost their homes or sustained property damage.

| Members Respond to Extreme Flooding in England | |
| Torrential rains caused massive flooding throughout parts of central and western England leaving more than 15,000 homes in Gloucestershire without power and up to 350,000 people without running water as severe flooding forced the closure of a water treatment plant on July 23, 2007.
While flood warnings continue to be issued in the Midlands, Oxfordshire, and Bedfordshire areas, Church leaders near Sheffield have been working with civil authorities in the recent weeks to distribute cleaning and other emergency relief supplies to those affected. Local leaders, in an effort to determine if Church assistance is needed, are assessing member and community needs.
