The Spiritual Gifts Given the Stake President
Neil L. Andersen
I am forever grateful that I listened to the promptings of the Spirit and encouraged this brother to do what he so needed to do in his life.” Spiritual Gifts and Spiritual Promises The Lord has declared that a stake is to be “for a defense, and for a refuge from the storm” (D&C 115:6). In all of these important responsibilities, the Lord blesses the stake president with an enhancement of spiritual gifts.

Our Strengths Can Become Our Downfall
Dallin H. Oaks
In contrast, if we are humble and teachable, hearkening to the commandments of God, the counsel of his leaders, and the promptings of his Spirit, we can be guided in how to use our spiritual gifts, our accomplishments, and all of our other strengths for righteousness. Distorted Faith An unusual degree of faith in God, which is a genuine spiritual gift and strength, can be distorted so as to seriously detract from scholarly pursuits.

Spiritual Gifts
Dallin H. Oaks
Enlightened by this Spirit, all may seek spiritual gifts, which, Moroni says, “come unto every man severally, according as he will.” (Moro. 10:17.) While the Spirit of Christ is the means by which spiritual gifts are transmitted to men and women, such gifts come by the power of the Holy Ghost, as I will explain later. Here spiritual gifts are likened to the various parts of the body, each performing its own function and each serving the entire “body of Christ.” (1 Cor. 12:27.) We must take care never to misuse spiritual gifts.

Gifts of the Spirit
Robert D. Hales
Elder Bruce R. McConkie (1915–85) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles wrote, “Spiritual gifts are endless in number and infinite in variety” (A New Witness for the Articles of Faith [1985], 371). The Apostle Paul taught that Christians should “desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy [meaning to testify of the Savior]” (1 Cor. 14:1).

Messages from the Doctrine and Covenants: Seek Ye Earnestly the Best Gifts
Mervyn B. Arnold
No man ought to say, ‘Oh, I cannot help this; it is my nature.’ He is not justified in it, for the reason that God has promised to give strength to correct these things, and to give gifts that will eradicate them.” 3 How Can We Obtain Spiritual Gifts? How Do We Discern between True and False Spiritual Gifts?

The Unspeakable Gift
Joseph B. Wirthlin
In the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord calls the gift of the Holy Ghost “the unspeakable gift.” 6 It is the source of testimony and spiritual gifts. If they would open their hearts to the refining influence of this unspeakable gift of the Holy Ghost, a glorious new spiritual dimension would come to light.

How to Receive Spiritual Gifts
Lane Johnson
And since these gifts are blessings for the faithful, then every such person seeking a spiritual gift has already had experience with at least one gift—the gift of faith in Christ and knows how freely this gift is given and how abundantly it blesses. Spiritual gifts for specific needs are available “by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them” (Moro. 10:8); but exactly what gifts do you need?

Teaching and Learning in the Church
Jeffrey R. Holland
Little wonder that the Apostle Paul would say in his writings, “God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers.” After that would come the broad blessing of miracles, spiritual gifts, and heavenly manifestations (see 1 Corinthians 12:28). Elder Holland: Moroni 10, the last chapter in the Book of Mormon, is a great summary statement about gifts.
