Preparing to Receive Revelation through the Holy Ghost The scriptures tell of different types of revelation, such as visions, dreams, and visitations by angels. But if you approach your Father in humble prayer, you can eventually “receive revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge, that thou mayest know the mysteries and peaceable things—that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal” (D&C 42:61).
