After he was resurrected, Jesus came to his Apostles. He stayed with them for forty days. He taught them many things about his church.

Acts 1:1–3

Jesus told his Apostles to teach the gospel to all people. He told them he would leave them soon. But the Holy Ghost would come to help them.

Acts 1:4–8

Then Jesus went to his Heavenly Father. The Apostles watched him go up to heaven. Two men in white clothes came and stood by the Apostles. The men told the Apostles Jesus would come back someday. He would come again out of heaven.

Acts 1:9–11

The Apostles were the leaders of the Church on earth. Peter was the President. James and John were his counselors. But there were only eleven Apostles. Judas was dead.

The Apostles had to choose another Apostle. Heavenly Father told them whom to choose. They chose Matthias. There were twelve Apostles again. They had the priesthood.

The Apostles and the Saints had faith. They obeyed God’s commandments. They loved one another.

Acts 2:41–47

The Apostles had the power of the Holy Ghost. They could do many things. They healed sick people. They taught about Jesus. They taught the gospel. They were missionaries. Many people believed the Apostles and joined the Church. The people who joined the Church were called Saints.
