Mary and Joseph lived in Nazareth. They were righteous. They loved each other. They were going to be married.

One day the angel Gabriel came to Mary. He told Mary God loved her. He said Mary would be blessed more than any other woman. Mary was afraid. Gabriel told her not to be afraid. God loved her. She would be blessed.

Gabriel told Mary she would have a baby boy. She should name him Jesus. The baby would be the Son of Heavenly Father. Jesus would be the king of all righteous people.

Mary did not have a husband. Gabriel said the boy’s father would be Heavenly Father. The baby would be the Son of God. Mary said she would obey Heavenly Father. She would be the mother of Jesus.
