Jesus went up on a mountain to pray. His disciples went out on a boat on the Sea of Galilee. There was a big storm on the sea. The wind was blowing hard. The waves were high.

Jesus came down the mountain in the night. He walked on the water to get to the boat.

The disciples saw Jesus walking on the water. They were afraid. They thought he was a ghost. Jesus said, “It is I; be not afraid.”

Peter said he wanted to walk on the water. Jesus told Peter to walk to him. Peter climbed out of the boat. He began to walk on the water to go to Jesus.

The wind was blowing hard. The waves were high. Peter was afraid. He began to sink into the water. He called to Jesus to save him.

Jesus took hold of Peter’s hand. He asked Peter why he was afraid. Jesus asked Peter why he did not have more faith.

Jesus and Peter walked to the boat. The storm stopped. The disciples worshiped Jesus. They knew he was the Son of God.
