Jesus lived in Nazareth when he was a boy. He learned many things. He prayed to his Heavenly Father. God loved Jesus.

When Jesus was twelve, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem. They stayed in Jerusalem for a few days.

Then Joseph and Mary left Jerusalem. They started home to Nazareth. But Jesus stayed in Jerusalem. Joseph and Mary did not know Jesus stayed in Jerusalem. They thought Jesus was walking home with his friends.

Joseph and Mary did not see Jesus all day. They looked for him. But they did not find him. No one knew where he was. So Joseph and Mary went back to Jerusalem to find him. They looked for Jesus for three days. They could not find Jesus. They were very sad.

At last they found Jesus in the temple. He was talking to some teachers. He was asking them questions. He was answering their questions. The teachers were surprised Jesus knew the answers. Joseph and Mary were surprised too.

Mary told Jesus she was worried about him. She and Joseph had looked for him for three days. Jesus said they should not worry about him. He said he was doing his Father’s work. God was his real father. Joseph and Mary did not understand what he meant.

Jesus went home to Nazareth with Joseph and Mary.

Jesus learned more and more about his Heavenly Father’s work.

He grew tall and strong.

People loved him. He did what God wanted him to do.
