During his first visit to Africa as an Apostle, Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve, and his wife, Sister Kathy Andersen, along with Elder Donald L. Hallstrom of the Presidency of the Seventy and his wife, Sister Diane Hallstrom, visited with Church leaders and members during travels to South Africa and Ghana.

Aussie Mormon Guitarist Works Around Blindness

The first time Lorin Nicholson read the Book of Mormon, it took him seven years to get through it. That's because Nicholson, a Mormon guitarist and motivational speaker from Australia, had to use a magnifying glass to read the book one word at a time. Nicholson, born with retinitis pigmentosa and legally blind, told his story and played his music for a single adult fireside in Midvale, Utah, on November 8.

Latter-day Saints Make Sacrifices to Relieve Flood Victims

October annually brings typhoons and other severe storms to southern Asia, and this year was no exception. The worst flooding in several decades devastated southern India during October, hitting the provinces of Karnakata and Andhra Pradesh particularly hard. To help the victims, priesthood leaders in the area were eager to provide needed assistance from the resources of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Water Reaches "End of the Row" in Congolese Villages

Dancing, shouts of joy, and speeches marked the end of a significant milestone for residents recently in several villages of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Water finally gushed out from an 18-mile-long pipe to the African villages of Tshiabobo, Mafumba, Kasha, and Ibola and will be in Luputa City by next summer.

Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple Site Announced

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the site for the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple. The specific location is 1739 Vine Street in downtown Philadelphia.

A unique exhibit of nativity sets from around the world conveys the universal message of Christmas, while music by performing groups from across the state adds a warm and personal Arizona feel to the annual Mesa Temple Garden Christmas lights display, called "Celebrate the Life of Christ in Lights and Music."
