Do You Have a Story to Tell?

The Liahona welcomes submissions that show the gospel of Jesus Christ at work in your life. We are currently looking for members’ experiences with the following topics:

Personal Experiences

Uplifting, faith-promoting examples of the gospel in action. Submit your story.

Gospel Insights

Articles that are insightful treatments of basic gospel principles. Such articles should be based on personal experiences—for instance, when prayer, scripture study, and action have led to a deepened testimony and understanding of a gospel principle. Focus the article on why you believe the principle and how you came to that testimony. Submit your story.

How-to, Practical Ideas

Articles on topics of interest to members, such as teaching, serving as a leader, strengthening marriages and families, and overcoming challenges. Submit your story.

Specific Individuals and Families

Articles about Church members around the world who are making a difference in their communities. If possible, include at least one photograph of the people you are writing about. With the photo send their permission and the permission of the photographer to publish the photo. Submit your story.

By and for Youth

Articles that teach and inspire in a fun and appealing way. We are interested in hearing about youth who have made a difference in their school, family, or community by living gospel standards. Submit your story.

By and for Children

Articles, stories, and “Fun Page” activities that teach gospel principles and good character qualities. Activities such as crossword puzzles that rely on words and word play do not translate successfully. But dot-to-dot pictures, mazes, and hidden pictures work well if the objects they depict are universal and gospel oriented. We encourage children to submit artwork and photographs of themselves and to share their interests. Submit your story, artwork, or photo.

Local News

News items that are of interest to members of the Church in your area. Send us reports of recent events as soon after the event as you can. If you are recommending that someone from the Church magazines cover the story, please notify us of upcoming events as far in advance as possible. You can also contact your local news editor about events and other interesting news items. Submit your story.

SOME TIPS FOR WRITING YOUR ARTICLE

Write your article with a worldwide audience in mind, and be aware that seasonal material, such as Christmas and Easter articles, needs to be submitted at least one year in advance. Word counts for the articles we print range from 400 to 2,000 words. We accept articles in any language. For more detailed information on writing for the Liahona, see the Liahona writer’s guidelines.

Please send your submissions to liahona@ldschurch.org or Liahona Editorial, 50 E. North Temple Street, Room 2420, Salt Lake City, UT 84150-3220, USA. Include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, ward (or branch), and stake (or district). Due to the volume of submissions, we cannot acknowledge receipt. Authors whose work is selected for publication will be notified. If you would like your material returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
