Site Offers Online Focus on the Savior
February 27, 2008 — News from the Church
JesusChrist.lds.org, a new Web site featuring the Savior, has launched to English audiences with plans to be available in 10 additional languages later during the year.
Visitors will find information, articles, and multimedia presentations about the Savior. The site’s design and message are meant to reflect the centrality of the Savior and His Atonement to the doctrine of the Church.
The content will initially be comprised of material available in the Christ-centered, special issues of the March Ensign and Liahona, but will also make use of the Internet’s multimedia capabilities.
The site shares with these issues of the magazines a common purpose in helping members better understand the Savior, receive or strengthen a witness of His divinity, and desire to follow and serve Him. It will also help members share their knowledge and witness of the Savior with others.
While the site’s content covers a variety of principles related to the Savior, it focuses on three main themes: faith in Jesus Christ; His life and ministry; and testimonies of Him.
Featured content includes messages from members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, testimonies of each of the individuals who have served as President of the Church, and access to videos such as Finding Faith in Christ.
Visitors to the site will have access to materials such as music or video clips and can find direction to other related sources. Plans are to continue to add material and increase access to information that can help anyone learn about the Savior for themselves.
Users can subscribe to hear about updates and additional material by registering online. Copies of the March Ensign and Liahona are still available at Church distribution centers or by speaking with local Church leaders.
