A Pharisee asked Jesus to eat with him. Pharisees were leaders of the Jews. Jesus went into the Pharisee’s house. He sat down to eat with the Pharisee.

A woman lived in the city. She had many sins. She knew that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house. She went to the house.

The woman knelt down by Jesus’ feet. She was crying. She washed his feet with her tears. She dried them with her hair. She kissed his feet. She put sweet-smelling oil on them. The Pharisee saw what the woman did. He knew the woman had many sins. He thought Jesus should know the woman was a sinner. He thought Jesus should not let her touch him.

Jesus knew what the Pharisee was thinking. Jesus told the Pharisee to look at the woman. Jesus said the Pharisee gave him no water to wash his feet. But the woman washed Jesus’ feet with her tears. She dried his feet with her hair. The Pharisee did not kiss Jesus. But the woman kissed Jesus’ feet many times. The Pharisee did not give Jesus oil. But the woman put sweet-smelling oil on Jesus’ feet.

Jesus told the Pharisee the woman had many sins. But she had repented of her sins. She loved Jesus very much. She had faith in him. Jesus told the woman her sins were forgiven. He told her not to be sad anymore.
