Below is a list of all Web feeds currently available on LDS.org and other Internet properties owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

What is a Web feed?
Web feeds are commonly referred to as RSS (really simple syndication) or podcasting. Feeds are a popular means of sharing regularly updated content (such as news headlines and First Presidency Messages) without requiring readers to constantly visit a Web site to see what's new. Feeds contain titles, short descriptions, and hyperlinks to longer articles or Web pages, as well as a linked reference back to the originating site. New content and links in Web feeds are updated automatically.

Where can I learn more about Web feeds?
The following links provide online resources to help you better understand and use RSS:

  • FeedBurner - Written for those who are new to RSS, this page provides basic information on what RSS is, who supports it, how you can start using it, and what the future holds for this technology.

  • Mediathink - Written for the slightly more advanced Internet user, this white paper provides helpful "what," "how," and "why" information, as well as links to popular RSS aggregators.

  • Wikipedia - Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia written by users, includes an entry on RSS that contains both basic and detailed information, all with abundant links to related topics.

What software is required to receive Web feeds?
To use feeds, you will need a special news reader or feed aggregator that will allow you subscribe to, collect, and display the content. The Internet properties of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not provide the required news reader or feed aggregator. Several different products are available, many for free. Most feed aggregators are applications that you download and install. Others are Web-based services you sign up for that work inside your browser. Click here for an independent list of feed aggregator applications from Google, or here for a list from DMOZ, the Open Directory Project. For feeds that contain MP3 files (often called podcasts), a music program like iTunes (itunes.apple.com) or WinAmp (www.winamp.com) will allow you to subscribe and listen to the files. Each program has different ways of subscribing to Web feeds, so follow the instructions in the selected program.

How do I subscribe to a Web feed?
All feeds on Church sites can be found on the Web Feeds Index page. Your RSS news reader or aggregator should identify the element and add it to your reader. You may also right-click on the icon, select Copy Shortcut, and then manually paste the link in your reader or aggregator. You may also subscribe by e-mail by clicking on a feed under the E-mail heading and providing your e-mail information. Not all feeds are provided in every feed format option.
