Following the same hopeful theme of the previous chapters, Isaiah 51–52 is filled with encouraging words for those who trust the Lord. In chapters 51–52 we read of the Lord’s great power over all things—but especially over the enemies of Israel. Individuals in bondage to sin may liken these scriptures to themselves and receive this message: the Lord will give powerful help to His children who have strayed but who now put their trust in Him and keep His commandments.
